I apologize for this blog going up late, I planned on writing it yesterday but I was just so busy hanging out with my sister and I totally forgot to write a damn thing before I fell asleep! I went a little crazy more than usual in the makeup section while shopping yesterday, so that's the reason for the title. I wanted to give those of you, who might be looking for ways to go a little more natural with your makeup, some of my recommendations/tips that I have in mind while looking for new makeup.
As I said, I went a little crazier than usual.. Instead of getting a couple of makeup products, I got five! FIVE! Keep in mind, I'm not a beauty guru, so my thoughts and techniques on makeup isn't exactly the best and I honestly never know what to get while I'm looking for that stuff; but the stuff that I did get yesterday, I'm pretty proud about. There's two things that I got that I never really wanted to try until recently, which is "BB Cream" and a "Lip Liner" that is the same color as my natural lip.
As soon as I got back to the house I had to try out my lip liner. I got the "L'oreal Colour Riche Lip Liner" in color "Timeless Coral". It is such a beautiful light brown/coral/pinky shade and it really does bring out my natural lip shape and color! I totally recommend doing this if you are looking for ways to accentuate your natural lip. It makes your lips look more delicate and beautiful.
The BB cream that I got is the "Rimmel London 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup" in color "Light". I mostly got this for my NOLA trip that I'm taking next month since it will most likely be super hot and this stuff has "SPF 25 Sunscreen" in it as well, so I'll probably end up wearing it a lot this summer too! I still have yet to try it out, but I'll definitely put it in my "April Favorites" blog if I really end up liking it, as I will with everything else.
Now the main reason why I was in the makeup isle to begin with, was because I was looking for new foundation. The foundation I am currently using is matte, and I've realized that that's not the shit I should be using! It makes my skin look so dry and disgusting. I don't like makeup that looks cakey and I'd rather go without no foundation at all but let's be honest, my skin absolutely sucks right now so foundation is my only way to not look blotchy and gross.
The foundation that I ended up getting, I've been eyeing pretty much ever since it came out and that is the "Maybelline New York Superstay Better Skin, Skin Transforming Foundation" in color "Ivory". I read somewhere that it said it's supposed to make your skin better other than the others that actually seep into your pores throughout the day and cause a bunch of acne, or something like that. I am still yet to find the perfect foundation so I thought I would give this one a go!
This next thing caught my attention as soon as I laid eyes on it, and that's the "Rimmel London Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer and Highlighter" in color "230 Fair/light". I figured that this would be perfect for my dark under eye circles and I am definitely the most excited to try this one out of everything else that I got! I think the concealer/highlighter duo could possibly bring out my eyes more by brightening up my under eye! It does have a built-in-brush applicator and I've never tried that with a concealer before, so that's definitely going to be interesting.
Lastly, of course I just HAD to run into and pick up Kate Moss' new "Rimmel London Nude Collection" and seriously all of the colors are so freaking gorgeous! My sister actually got one as well but she got a way more lighter shade than I did because knowing me, of COURSE I would go for pretty much the darkest shade possible! I ended up getting shade "48" and it's so freaking pretty. It's like a dark brown with hints of red in it, more like a dark auburn color pretty much. It was honestly the first color I swatched on my hand and the last one because I fell in love with it right away! I'm super excited to wear it for sure!
So that was my mini makeup haul, as you can see other than my dark lip obsession, I pretty much go for the makeup products that accentuate my natural look the most. I recently haven't been using eye liner and I find myself liking my makeup a lot more, so that could be another thing that might make you go "ehh" while looking at yourself in a mirror lately. I feel like being as natural as you can be is a very good way to be more comfortable and confident with yourself. It took me a long way to get to that point though myself, so I totally understand those that aren't there just yet.
It will come in time though because I truly believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way and that they will soon realize that in time!
Thanks so much for reading and enjoy the rest of your day!
