So last month on my flight to New Orleans, I finally started reading #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. She's the founder and CEO of the company Nasty Gal and the most bad ass Girlboss I've ever heard of! This book is definitely one of my TOP favorites and it gave me so much inspiration which is exactly what I needed the most.
Throughout this book, Sophia talks about her past and what she did to become so successful with her business and she even throws in some tips for people who are interested in doing the same thing or something similar. What I like the most about Sophia is that she is so unique and she never tries to sugarcoat anything. She said a numerous amount of times that she would steal stuff from stores and sell it on eBay or for herself because she couldn't afford to buy anything at that time. Yea that's against the law and definitely not something to do or tell people about but she doesn't care. She's honest to her readers and herself and that right there is something a lot of people sadly cannot do.
After years of hitchhiking, committing petty theft, dumpster diving, and dropping out of school, by the age of 22 she began to start selling vintage clothes on eBay. It's now been 10 years to today and she's the founder and CEO of a $250-million-plus fashion retailer with more than four hundred employees. That. Is. INSANE!
Seriously, if you're anything like me and directionless as fuck, read this book. This is someone who will make you want to do everything you can to be successful and fight towards your goals in life! Sophia Amoruso is actually living my dream and I have already gone back to read my favorite bits and pieces that inspire me tons of times already because that's how much this book has touched me and influenced me.
Someday I will be a Girlboss.
